Weird mothers probably produce interesting offspring.

When I was in my 20s when a guy I really wanted to date called me and expressed interest, I thought he got me confused with someone else. There was another Kim in our crowd, who was amazingly beautiful, and I figured he really meant to call her. In my confusion I put off “I am not interested” vibes and totally discounted me as an interesting and worthy person in my own right.

I kept that sort of thing up for a long time, but have come to realize attraction is attraction. Who knows why? Now I say date anyone who asks you (unless you get creepy vibes), regardless of whether either is each other’s perceived type. People are surprising.

Fun read!
