A friend was feeling uncomfortable with the idea of receiving a stimulus check.

“I don’t need it. I’m working. Others need it more.”

My response:

“So go find these others. Purchase food from local restaurants or local farms. Tip your servers or delivery people extra. Buy art. Get a CD from a local musician or that book from your writer friend – or buy ten and give them away to people who may become a fan. Frequent a small business. Pay the rent or electric bill for someone out of work. Buy towels, underwear, pajamas, twin sheets, or whatever else is needed for a homeless shelter. Give money to a local food bank.”

If you don’t need the money, help your local economy by doing good with it! You have the power to notice needs and meet them. Be a catalyst for positive change. Stimulate!
